Social Accelerator on 'Crafts, Culinary and Livelihood'

"Where Creativity Meets Social Change, Through Entrepreneurship"

‘Crafts, Culinary and Livelihood Accelerator’ is a three month accelerator programme for early stage social impact start-ups engaged in crafts, culinary or livelihood sectors. These social start-ups are in the business of ‘change making’ through their for-profit endeavours. The Accelerator aims at rendering mentoring, capacity-building, funding and networking opportunities for various stakeholders in the said sectors, by accelerating select ‘for-profit social enterprises’. The objective is to bridge the current gaps, build capacity and facilitate a lavish platform for cross-learning and collaborations, where these start-ups become funding-ready.
Stakeholders being aimed through the programme to come on a common platform are – The Providers, The Enablers and The Doers.

Startup Oasis

Startup Oasis is a Jaipur based incubation centre that is catalysing the start-up ecosystem in Rajasthan for social, women and student-led enterprises. The endeavour is to facilitate fertile grounds for breakthrough innovations and contribute to the socio-economic development, of the bottom-of-pyramid, through enterprise led economy. Startup Oasis has been set-up as the joint initiative of RIICO, Rajasthan’s premiere industrial promotion organization, and the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIM Ahmedabad.(more)

Social Incubation Programme

Technology Development Board (TDB) and Department for International Development (DFID), UK have initiated the ‘Innovative Ventures and Technologies for Development’ (INVENT) programme. Startup Oasis is implementing INVENT program in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to support social entrepreneurs in these low-income- states of India. The programme is run in partnership with Villgro and involves, funding, incubation-support, mentoring, capacity building and networking assistance. Startup Oasis has so far on-boarded over 15 start-ups with an average funding of 25 lacs each and supported 9 others through its first Social Accelerator programme. These start-ups work to create an impact on the Bottom-of- Pyramid through their ‘for profit’ business endeavours in low income states of India (especially in Raj and M.P.). Startup Oasis mandates to support a total of 50 social start-ups by end of 2019. (more)

Past Social Accelerator

Startup Oasis launched its first Social Accelerator in November 2017 with an objective of supporting social impact start-ups, that are committed to creating social impact footprint through their rigorous 'for profit' business endeavour. Accelerator programme helps social impact start-ups by significantly steepening their learning curves and making them investment ready, through capacity building, mentoring and diagnostic panels exercises. The first accelerator attracted over 125 applications from across the country from various sectors including – agriculture, craft, health, education and livelihood. Nine start-ups formed the cohort for the first social accelerator and four out of them made their way to INVENT programme with a funding of 25 lacs each.
